2016-06-08: Summer 2016 Social Media Intern, Kastan Day

The Autonomy Incubator is excited to introduce our newest Social Media intern, Kastan Day!

Kastan Day
Kastan, from Seattle, WA, fostered a love of film and video creation all through high school at Phillips Academy outside Boston, MA and today creates media for the Autonomy Incubator.  This fall, Kastan will attend Swarthmore College outside Philadelphia, PA and anticipates studying computer science with a focus on machine learning and artificial intelligence, much the same as that extensively used by the Autonomy Incubator.
Final pitch of Colorado's highest unclimbed peak

Kastan is not new to filmmaking, having worked professionally as a camera operator in New York City with LAVA Music Publishing and on freelance work.  He was also the founder and head of video on the Phillipian, the oldest high school newspaper in the country, building and leading a ten-person video production team.

Kastan is also no stranger to UAV technology. Climbing with his father, Kastan successfully secured the first ascent of the highest unclimbed peak in Colorado using his own custom built UAV to lay supporting ropes. Subsequently, NPR and Climbing magazine featured his unique approach to mountaineering.

Kastan also loves playing Ultimate Frisbee and staying up late working on passion projects with friends.
