Gale Curry from Northwestern University focused on flocking and formation flight during her summer with the Autonomy Incubator. She was challenged to enable a fleet of micro
UAVs fly through an aperture, like a window, and then reassemble on the
other side. Equipping teams of small vehicles with this kind of
adaptability and agility in the air could support search and rescue, earth science data collection, and disaster assessment - just to name a few missions!
Gale may be rejoining the AI team in January and we are excited to see what amazing things she does next!
